Where's The Beef?

Grass-fed beef is donning the dining tables of more people than ever before. Grass-fed beef has more nutritional value than grain-fed beef. Low in saturated fat, people are starting to enjoy beef again, where once they were warned to stay away from it by their doctors.

In order to make more money, cattle ranchers typically feed cattle grains. Dead pigs and horses are still ground into cattle feed. Cats and dogs, as well as cows used to be ground into cattle feed until it was banned due to mad cow. With a grass diet, the meat is healthier for you and may provide you nutrients against disease.

Beef from grass-fed cattle has less fat then grain-fed beef. With grain-fed cattle, approximately 50% of the fat is saturated. With grass-fed cattle, only about 10% of the fat is saturated. Omega 3 fats are more prevalent in grass-fed beef.

Omega 3 fats may help treat or prevent arthritis, high blood pressure and coronary artery disease.

Grass fed beef has great amounts of beta carotene, vitamin A and vitamin E. Cancer and diabetes risks may be reduced by CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid). CLA and Omega 3 may have positive effects on those diagnosed with ADHD.

You'll easily lose weight with the very lean beef from grass-fed cattle.  This is a great incentive to insert it into your weight-loss plan. There are many great dishes to make with beef, like meatloaf, tacos and burgers.
