Drink Juice not Coffee

First thing in the morning when you wake up, your thirsty. Your body has been doing the work of sleep and it needs rehydration. For many people, the first thought they have upon waking is, I need something to drink, time to put on the coffee pot. The problem? Coffee is a diuretic; it actually makes you thirstier! What’s more, the caffeine in coffee has many ill effects on the body, certainly not the best thing to give it first thing in the morning.

A far better choice, for a whole range of reasons, is fresh fruit and vegetable juice made with a wheatgrass juicer. Juice will actually quench your thirst while providing you with the nutrition you need to get going on your day. Fresh juice, with its minerals, vitamins, and other important elements, can give you more energy than that cup of coffee you crave.

The key to replacing the coffee habit is to find an alternative that is equally satisfying early in the day. Fresh juice that you make with your home juicer is absolutely fabulous. For those who buy there juice at the local supermarket fresh home made juice is a wonderful alternative. The flavor, not to mention the nutrition, of fresh juice cannot be compared to that bought from the store.

Begin swapping out coffee slowly. Instead of drinking two cups in the morning, drink one cup of coffee and one glass of juice. This is the easy healthy way to ditch that caffeine addiction. Then, once you realize the benefits of fresh juice, the energy it brings you, replacing coffee will be a no brainer.

In addition to being a diuretic, causing your body to excrete water and leading to dehydration, coffee has a number of other ill effects. Caffeine has been shown to reduce your body’s ability to regulate the amino acid homocysteine, which can lead to high blood pressure and heart disease. By inhibiting the effects of the B vitamins, caffeine also makes you more susceptible to high cholesterol and its unhealthy effects on the vascular system. Coffee also elevates production of stress hormones, hardly the best thing first thing in the morning!

Juicing and juice fasting detoxify the body. It cleanses the digestive track and rids the blood of toxins. Not only will juice combat the ill effects of caffeine, it will help you break the coffee addiction. You’ll feel healthier, more awake, and full of energy.

Waking up feeling tired is a problem for many people. They then carry this lack of energy with them throughout the day, affecting their work, their relationships, and their feelings of well being. For many, the solution is grab a cup of coffee, believing it will keep them “up” and ready to go. The truth is, the caffeine that gives you that initial burst of energy actually depletes your body of nutrition, leading to the all too familiar energy crash an hour later.

Juice, made daily with fresh vegetables and fruits, will free you from the coffee-and-crash cycle. Start out gradually replacing your morning coffee with juice, and soon enough you’ll be feeling better, happier, healthier.
