Choosing The Correct Wine

It’s coming up to Friday lunchtime. It’s been a very long week at work, quite stressful and really, really busy.

I am now counting down the hours to the weekend and that will mean a a few bottles of wine will be consumed.

Well if the truth be told, it’s normally a few bottles on a Friday, then a few more on Saturday and unfortunately just the one on Sunday. I have to be up early on a Monday morning ready for another hectic week at the office.

Even though I have been drinking for a few years now – actually far more than I am going to let on, I am still am a bit of an amateur when it comes to choosing my wines and I still get it wrong sometimes. I know occasionally I serve a red when it should really be white.

For Friday’s dinner I was thinking about dishing up a nice cut of steak. To accompany this I think I should be choosing a nice Cabernet Sauvignon. However my predicament is I am an absolute lover of any sort of Shiraz, so perhaps I should get a couple of bottles of this.

This Saturday we have a family celebration and I will be laying on a nice finger buffet at my house. I expect my family will do their usual and not bring their own wine, so I will have to make sure I have extra supplies in. Cava is my favourite wine, so I will probably go for this. My dilemma will be should I get Rosado Cava or Reserve Cava, or perhaps, as it’s a big event, I should just get a case of each.

On Sunday night it will just be the two of us and I think after such a heavy weekend of drinking that we will probably just snuggle on the settee with a cup of tea.

Well that will be another weekend done and dusted. Unfortunately Monday morning will soon be here, the alarm will be buzzing nice and early and another busy week will be here.  Oh roll on Friday.
